Ghost Towns of Colorado

Description

As a kid growing up in the mountains of Colorado, there were a number of Ghost Towns in the area where I lived. Most were on private land, or part of the state park areas, and few buildings remained. I do remember finding the charred ruins of the once grand 'Manitou Park Hotel' at the end of a rail road spur that burned to the ground in 1905. There wasn't much, mostly overgrown, and the railroad had been abandoned since the 1920's. (I also found a buffalo head nickel in those same ruins as well as the buried massive cast metal kitchen stoves that originally started the fire)
In those few still standing buildings, I used to wonder what life was like back in the day, and found my imagination wandering, which made for some great adventures.
Anyway, I wanted to catch the mood of those ruins, structures still standing, and the secrets they hold.

I have seen this image innumerable times while cruising through dA's search engine for cowgirls, and I have to tell you that it stops me dead in my tracks whenever I see it. Now that I'm going image by image through gallery, I find it very appropriate that you are its creator.
