As you get older, the faster time goes. This has been proven by science. Although a second can be measured into a second, minute to minute remains unchanged, its our perception of time that changes, and time speeds up the older you get.
Didn't realize it had been months since I last did anything here, Christmas, Newyears, Valentines all have passed and I have done nothing here. Renovating a house, and a myriad of other projects really takes all my time now. (Upholstering an old victorian couch, antique cabinets need refinishing, more clocks show up, and trying to make money selling toys on eBay, etc)
I haven't abandoned this, just had to shift priorities for a time.
Hope to be back and active soon.

And still not much to present here. Does anyone else spend weeks stressing over their renders? I have a bunch that didn't make the cut, made even worse as I work with Superfly. Love the results I see in other people's work, but can't quite manage it myself. I'm sure there is a lot of Photoshop post work in those, but damn are they impressive.
So, still struggling.

Been a while

I would like to say that I've been busy creating new art, but sadly, that's not the case. Between work and home remodeling, I haven't had much time to devote to my renders. Since getting this new computer in December, I thought I would start with a clean slate, and use the newer Genesis models with the latest version of Poser. A bit of a learning curve there- hate the newer Poser interface. Menus take up a lot of screen real estate, and I miss the older style Libraries menu.  I like the new genesis, but I don't have anything to use with her (textures, props, etc), and no funds to get them. I did manage to create a new dragon render, but while watching my son play a video game, I realized that the dragon he was fighting was much more realistic than what I created, and the video game dragon was moving! Crap.
Anyway, still alive, and hope to dive back into renders soon.

I seem to have the worst luck with computers. The harddrive of my 'trusty' work horse of a computer (macBook Pro) gave out two months ago. While it still runs, its very prone to memory errors and likes to crash, seemingly at random. Thought it was faulty RAM, but no, its the harddrive. As the MacBook still has some issues from the power cord shorting out earlier this year, I've decided not to repair it. Everything is backed up onto external harddrive, so no issues there. I do have a replacement computer lined up, a hand me down that I will have up and running by the end of the year. So those few of you wondering where I went, have patience.
In the meantime, I've been using a really old MacBook Pro (So old that updates are no longer issued, and is not supported by any browser, and the most recent version of Poser will not load) for writing (in Word 2004). WHile its fun to write, its even more fun to create the images to go with it.

Samurai Jack

1 min read
I'm  a big fan of the Cartoon Networks Samurai Jack cartoon from the early 2000s. MY oldest son the other day asked if I wanted to go see it at the theaters as they had remastered the first three episodes into a 4K movie. I immediately said yes. The one night only showing was at a theater where you have to reserve your seat online. He got us some pretty good seats.
We went last night, and I was stunned to learn that we were the only ones that showed up.
Seriously?
I think what happened was that they didn't advertise, and the only reason my son knew it was showing was that he was playing with a new movie app when he learned of this special event. I didn't know about the showing at all.
Its a shame too as Samurai Jack is an awesome cartoon that was not fully appreciated.
Sadly this special event may be the last one of its kind because of such a low turn out.
Advertise people!
