Two weeks ago I fried the computer power supply cord for my MacBook Pro, which is where I do ALL my work. It shorted out at the Magsafe connector. When I finally noticed, I was at 11% battery life. (I was in the middle of a long render and was left unattended.) Did manage to copy a few files to a USB thumbdrive- book related and the last image I was working on. My fallback computer is really old, (10.6.8) so old that I can't update it at the Apple App store, and no modern browser can install on it. Even trying to load Deviantart website laughs at me and says I need to install a newer browser.
Anyway, back to the power supply. I am not currently budgeted to buy a replacement power supply as a genuine Apple power supply runs about $80.00 on Amazon, which may not seem like too much, but when you live paycheck to paycheck, it is a huge sum of money. so I am asking here if anyone has a power supply cord for an Mid 2012 MacBook Pro that they might consider selling to me cheap, or better yet, give to me.
I am concerned that I may have damaged my Macbook as there are scorch marks at the connector. Hopefully I didn't fry the power input on my trusty computer.
Buying a new MacBook Pro is out of the question, as it would need a minimum 500GB drive and 16GB RAM, which is over $3000.00.
And buying a Windows computer would mean I would have to buy all new software, which is equally unappealing.
I do regular backups on the computer, so I am not too concerned about Data being lost, only the computer.
